Intention

you come first

Tope Hassan Love Letter

this year, i’ve been reminded time & time again that i come first. i get carried away with giving and serving so much that i forget to replenish and usually end up empty - having to take so much time to fill up again only to expend and repeat the cycle.

who’s the strong one among you?

sometimes, its the strongest people that need so much love because you are selfless and have given your time to learn so you may mentor; to smile so you may inspire; to dream so you may build…

to LIVE

humans have no business being strong, they posses strength.

know that you are loved not only by family, friends or the people you have touched. know that you are also loved by the universe - the trees, the sky, the sea, the air you breathe because God made the universe to balance for you irrespective…

so anytime you feel so low, remember that you are

God's own love story

set an intention for this week

no… its not time to check up on your strong friends. rather its time to admit to everyone around you that while you're strong, you're also the weakest link. so take up a piece of paper, write down 3 things that becomes your kryptonite and weakens your strength. share it with the people around you and show them you also need care. inspire them to do same.

“first admission of guilt is the perfect one of them all”

affirmation for week 12

“i'll be bold at heart; i'll be bullish about life; i'll be vulnerable with friends and kind to myself… ”

breathe easy.

if you had the chance to create your friends, who would you make?

just like every great thing in this world, friendships are intentional investments you make for no guaranteed future. we run into trouble when we start considering friendships as a current bonus - like an ice cream that’s supposed to make us feel good right now.

our friendships are not always going to work out. sometimes, it would require time to heal from a bad incident or a passive friendship that we can rely upon. but in any case, friends are a spice for life.

friend: another spirit to navigate the universe with.

so while you grow into the best version of yourself, don’t forget to find your clan - the people you choose that decide to choose you too. make room for them and share of yourselves selflessly in growth and intentionally but don’t lose your true identity for another person.

invest time in your friendships and your friendships will invest in you.

set an intention for this week

think of the people you’ve come across that inspire or challenge you. you don’t have to be friends with them. identify the ones with good character. call them up this week. as you go out, buy a small item (as little as a pen) and gift it to them. invite them out to coffee or a walk. learn about their dreams and goals. be the first to reach out. for your close friends, make a conscious effort to schedule a hangout once in 2 or 3 weeks. share updates and invest in their passion also. remember to share your intentions with them.

“the reward of giving is in the joy of a glass of cold water offered

affirmation for week 10

“When I win, my friends win. When my friends win, I win… ”

breathe easy.

Look at You, Now.

Dear Friend,

7 months ago, I had a specific dream to pursue an MBA in France
but there was a thousand and one challenges that made my dream seem like a joke and my worry meter was over board. nevertheless, I invested all I had - myself, my friends, money, time, faith… in August 2018, I quit my paying job and jumped into the programme. no income - only outcome. last week, I began worrying about finding a job after my programme. I had literally spent these past weeks jumping from one worry to another. but it dawned on me…

“who were you, Yesterday? Quit Worrying. Work it out!”

let’s talk about your future.

your Future is here, now, with you.

remember all those things you sat down and prayed about,

hoped for and worked hard for them.

Sometimes, you gave everything up just for it

see how you’re living in them right now...

but yet we forget to stop and take in the moment to be thankful

especially to yourself for the discipline and hard work

that brought you here.

So keep at it, you’re already there

set an intention for this week

grab a sticky note if you find one ( you may write in your notebook or a list on your phone). write everything you hoped for in the past. set your timeline either for a year, 6 months, 2 years… depends. then write down all the achievements you have made so far in this time. cross the ones that tally with your “hoped-for” list. share this list with someone, anyone or me. and tell them,

“who were you, Yesterday? Quit Worrying. You can work it out!”

affirmation for week 9

“your name is in places your feet has not yet stepped into… quit worrying, work for it and”

breathe easy.

Channelling a fabric of time

a piece from my travels in Lyon, France - EST Summer 2018

a piece from my travels in Lyon, France - EST Summer 2018

there’s time for everything

under the sun

a time to learn, to work, to invest, to grow

a time to celebrate, to play, to spend, to reap

in all these,

leave time always, for self-care

as you spend time making money moves,

make a habit of breathing, cleansing, meditating…

after all,

selfCare is loving others

like we would love ourselves, first.

every time we spend on ourselves or our community

is selfcare

and while you’re working hard,

remember,

: you can do anything

everything attached to you, wins :

affirmations for week 6

for the future doesn’t smell... yet. i'll

be kind to yourself

hello,

my name is Tope Hassan, a broke entrepreneur.

last week, I had to announce to my team

that I could no longer fund their services at isoko.africa

so we had to let go of our team

in the midst of these, I could not afford to pay my rent

for over a month now.

As you know, depression and self doubt set in

I blamed myself for becoming a failure

for failing to do what Mark Zuckerberg could do

or all the entrepreneurs who built great companies

from startups, with no capital and small team

yet today, have the biggest companies

I thought, what a failure…

trying to remember why I even started it.

in the middle of these, I found strength and remembered

:life is tough darling, so are you:

I don’t know what you’re going thru

but remember to

be kind to yourself

you are not your failures

you are your lessons and the effort you put in every day

“and if you doubt yourself

remember to hold the process loose and the goal, dearly”

affirmations for week 5

“i’m reminded of my passion as it flows through me. i’ll be honest with my humans for my truth gives them power to love me each moment… I’ll…”

are you feeling less inspired?

Flowers Germany Tope Hassan

dec 2019 seems far away

but it feels like you have exhausted your

energy & motivation even before you started..

or, you’re trying to moderate the enthusiasm you feel

for your goals because you’re scared you might burn out

before mid 2019… “i mean, what’s the point?”

I had a dream! a goal… you say?

but I say

remove the destination and process out of it.

wash yourself in the feeling of its impact

let the euphoria seep into your skin & your face

close your eyes

how does it feel?

begin to imagine the process from the end point

write down that process

now go ahead and start the journey

…now.

and if you doubt yourself

remember to hold the process loose and the goal, dearly

this is your time

remember to start today.

affirmations for week 3

the ghosts of all the beings I used to be are so very proud of who I have become. i glow differently when i'm actually happy… as i,

create your own table

Yoga Tope Hassan

i remember as a child, i'd always had a seat at the table at home. until 17, when i started college, i made my very first meal knowing that i was well on my way to making my own table… even though it was a small one. what an amazing feeling!

oh the joys of independent manifestation.

and then we became adults, and suddenly, we look for a table where we can be welcomed to partake of the feast. even the culture told us to bring our own seat to the table if there wasn't one when we got there.

and so we spend our entire life… looking for a table (sometimes, in compromise of ourselves), unconscious of the seat in our hand. that seat in itself is an asset.

the truth about life is that sometimes, it does not work when we bring our seat to the table of others.

after trying different tables for a while, don't be afraid to make your own table.

be brave enough to make your own table and you will find likewise people with seats looking for a table.

this, is your table.

say to yourself

i trust in my process. my eyes are twin worlds… sending light across the universe. and as my thoughts become actions, the universe yields to me. my heart believes… as i,
